Company Restoration

Extraordinary Operations

Restoration

Restoration is the process of reinstating a company that has been removed from the Companies House register. This may be necessary for reasons such as resuming operations, managing undistributed assets, or resolving legal disputes.

Two main restoration methods are available in the UK:

Administrative Restoration:

For companies struck off for non-compliance with administrative obligations (e.g., failure to file accounts). This can be initiated by directors or shareholders within six years of the strike-off date.

Restoration by Court Order

Required when a company was voluntarily struck off or if more than six years have passed since the strike-off. This process involves a court application and is available to creditors, shareholders, directors, or other interested parties.
